Professor Emeritus Raymond M. Leuthold is the Thomas A. Hieronymus Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois. He is also the Director Emeritus of the Office for Futures and Options Research. Dr. Leuthold has edited two books on futures markets for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and is co-author of The Theory and Practice of Futures Markets, a leading classroom textbook. He has been a Visiting Professor at Stanford University, a recipient of a Fulbright Research Fellowship to France, and was a Visiting Scholar at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1991-92. Dr. Leuthold received his B.S. from Montana State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Leuthold teaches courses in futures markets, price analysis, and forecasting. His research covers pricing efficiency, basis relationships, economic performance and optimal hedging strategies in livestock and other commodity markets.
